Carcass Meat

Seradria produces and exports 1st quality carcass meat from sheep and cattle. Both products are sourced from the best livestock breeds available in the local market. For sheep we mainly use the Tsurcana and Karakul (fat tail) breeds, while in the case of cattle we work with Simmental, Blue Belgium, Angus and Limousine. All animals are taken directly from our specialised livestock farm, where we keep them on a feeding process for a few weeks or months before slaughtering.

The abattoirs that we use are authorised by the national ANSVSA (National Sanitary Veterinary Authority for Food Safety) and EU competent regulators. They can also slaughter by Halal method, with a Halal certification given by the Great Mufti’s Office of Muslim Community of Romania. A specific Muslim is appointed for each abattoir and will perform the slaughter in the appropriate ritual manner, the animal’s throat is be cut by a sharp knife severing the carotid artery, jugular vein and windpipe in a single swipe. Blood is then drained out of the carcass.

Our company can prepare both fresh and frozen meat carcasses, without head and organs. At request we can also sell the organs separated, frozen. They must be packed and vacuumed in plastic bags, as requested by Romanian law. We provide a shelf life of minimum 20 days.

For sheep the weight of the carcasses differ with the season, smaller ones are available from spring (10-15 kg), with bigger ones ready for export towards the end of the year (20-30 kg). They can be prepared in one or more pieces, as requested by clients. The carcasses are covered in white mutton cloths in order to preserve their initial quality during transport.
